Tiger Electronic Games – Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN)

A subsidiary of the toy mongrel Hasbro, Tiger Electronics, for many years, managed to satisfy the rapidly expanding video game demands by producing and releasing a whole infestation of very low-quality handheld LCD “games” that somehow gave off the impression that you were holding an actual NES right in the palm of your hands. But the truth is, IT WORKED! Since another main facet to market economy is that the products that people buy the most are the ones that get produced the most, Tiger proceeded to milk their new money grab for all that it was worth, and even tried their hand at releasing whole video game consoles for the sake of it. The Nerd casts his eye on a selection of hardware by Tiger Electronics, including a selection of LCD handheld games and wristwatch-styled games, plus two portable consoles – the Game.com and the R-Zone. This is Angry Videogame Nerd episode 113

  2. That’s funny you mention it. I had a bunch of these, never played them because they sucked so much ass. The only one I ever played regularly was my dads video poker one.

  3. You’d think after all the money they received they would make proper Tiger Consoles like the Gameboy and Super NES

  4. Hey I had an R-Zone. The same one in the video and with Batman forever. I gotta give credit where it's due. Batman forever had more than one level. The next level after the one shown in the video was driving the batmobile forward from your own perspective(not left to right of the screen) I don't remember much else about it but I barely got there.

  5. I love going back to these old episodes. And seeing that almost nothing about the writing as changed other than the quality has just gotten better. Just a reminder that this man has been doing this since before 2006.

  6. As a child I had some games in that style and I quite loved them – if you didn't know or had the real stuff they were quite addictive

  7. Funny thing with Tiger electronics I had a thing called "Video Now" back in 2005 I had no idea it was by them until I looked it up 😂 it sucked cause the screen was really small

  8. 6:20 where you said "Apparently, everything in the Tanner household came alive and is trying to kill you." You mean like the episode where Stephanie crashed the car into the kitchen?

  9. I had the Snake's Revenge one back in the early 90s. The game "talked" to you. Nowadays it's such garbage, but back in the day it was brilliant.

  10. Now showing, Dr Jekyll and Mr, hide, THE TIGER GAME! Also featuring Shit pickle and Superman from superman 64. (Also made by LJN if you hate it you can f*ck off play our tiger game bit*h)
